Work continues at La Masia

Monday’s training session focussed on recovery exercises for the players that lined up against Betis but kept one eye on Wednesday’s CL clash with Rangers. Zambrotta was the only absentee.

Just a few hours after Sunday evening’s 3-0 win against Betis, the players were back on the training grounds on Monday morning. The players that took part in the match were treated to a rather lighter session with the emphasis on physical recovery.

Zambrotta injury blow

fcb-betis1.jpgThe players – minus Gianluca Zambrotta (ankle) - made their appearance on the training grounds at 11 am. Club doctors informed us that the Italian defender suffered a blow to the external ligament of his left ankle in the match against Betis and is doubtful for Wednesday CL match against Rangers.

Meanwhile, Barça B goalkeeper, Oier Olazábal, took apart in the session with the senior squad, as has been the case on a number of occasions recently.

Shorter session

Ronaldinho, one of the stars of the win against Betis, also left the session after the ball control exercises.

Circuit and training match

sessio_051107_x7x.jpgAfter the ball control exercises, the players did a circuit focussing on sprinting and changes of rhythm. The men that played on Sunday evening then returned to the dressing rooms. The rest of the players continued with a circuit – this time with the ball – concentrating on ball control and long passes.

The session ended with the customary training match between: Bojan, Giovani, Milito, Jorquera and one of the fitness coaches; and Gudjohnsen, Sylvinho, Oleguer, Ezquerro and Oier.
