Voluntary training session
Following the defeat to Getafe, the first team had a voluntary training session this morning. A total of 13 players took to the training pitch at the Masia, while Henry, Thuram and Abidal worked out in the gym.
Training this Sunday morning took place on the Masia pitch. It was a voluntary session with Giovani, Bojan, Valdés, Puyol, Xavi, Iniesta, Sylvinho, Márquez, Gudjohnsen, Jorquera, Ezquerro, Oleguer and Zambrotta all present.
Henry, Thuram and Abidal did their training session in the club gym.
Márquez, OK
Rafa Márquez, who was not included in the squad for the Getafe game due to a muscular contraction in his right calf, trained with the rest of the team without any reaction to the injury. The players began with a warm up and their usual exercise routines.
Valdés, Puyol, Sabih, Iniesta and Zambrotta, who all played against Getafe had a shorter session mainly centred on recovering from the game. They did some running, stretching and some exercises before heading for the changing rooms.
More work for the others
The remaining players continued the training session under Johan Neeskens, as Frank Rijkaard was working in his office. Those players who didn’t start the Getafe game did some one-touch control work. Later, the drill was modified slightly with the players having to finish with a shot on goal.
