Dos Santos back next week
Giovani Dos Santos is expected to return to training next week with the squad after suffering a slight sprain to his left ankle on the Copa del Rey game against Alcoyano on Tuesday evening.
Tests revealed on Wednesday morning that the Mexican youngster suffered a blow to the external lateral ligament, but there was no damage to the bone itself. That is good news for the player and coach Frank Rijkaard as the forward will now be able to recover over the next few days before returning to training in preparation for the visit of Recre in ten days.
Dos Santos was stretchered off in the 69th minute of the cup encounter with Alcoyano after a particularly hefty challenge from the home team's Manuel Carrión, a tackle which sparked the wrath of Rijkaard at the final whistle.
