Henry and Abidal out of action
Thierry Henry and Éric Abidal will both miss FC Barcelona's trip to Real Valladolid on Thursday after being unable to recover from the knocks that they have carried for the past few days.
Having already mentioned that he was having problems with his ankle, Henry has now been told by club doctors that he is not fit to play in the midweek encounter. The French forward has peritendinitis in the Achilles tendon on his left leg. Doctors will now wait and see how the injury develops before making a decision on when he can return to action.
Abidal has a knock on his right ankle that has caused him some pain. The defender has been left out of the squad to travel to Valladolid after picking up the injury in the first half of the win against Almería at the weekend and has worked away from the rest of the squad in training this week.
