Bojan Krkic: "I am learning a lot"

Bojan Krkic has revealed how pleased he is with his first few months as a member of the FC Barcelona first team squad and insisted that he has never had any intention of leaving to join another club on loan.

After being promoted from the B side before the start of the current campaign, the 17-year-old has been rewarded with several appearances as a substitute in order to gain valuable experience. "I ahve played in the majority of games and Rijkaard has shown a lot of confidence in me," Krkic said. "I did not hope to play so much as I thought I would not be given a lot of minutes. I never thought about going out on loan to another team though. I am a young player that is training with a great team and is already a great deal. I am sure that bit-by-bit I will improve."

Helping hands

"During the last few months with the squad I have learned many things, especially how to behave in a dressing room as professional as the one here at Barça," he continued. "Everyone is helping me a lot. Henry has supported me since the first day and also Eto'o. The players who have come from the youth team have also helped. The truth is that ther is a great group in the dressing room."

Krkic then reflected on the great form of team-mate Lionel Messi, in whose footsteps he is following. "Leo is in great form," the youngster stated. "He has showjn us things that only he cold do. He is a fine player who deserves all the trophies and awards."

Not obsessed

"I have scored at every level since I joined Barça and I am not obsessed with it now," he said. "I had a really god chance against Stuttgart, but I know that if I keep playing the goals will come." Krkic does admit, however, that when he returned from the Under-17 World Championships in the summer he was very keen to find the net. "It is true that I trued too many things in a short space of time when I came back," he explained. "I returned when the team was playing official games, after leaving them following the tour of Scotland. Although things went well for me in the World Championships, I now know that in the first team games the number of chances is reduced and you have to take advantage of them when they come."
